I have a friend who is renovating his basement and we have a question regarding the baseboard heaters that were initially installed 12 to 16 inches above the floor. Now that he is finishing his basement our question is whether or not there is any safety code to regulate the height of these heaters off the floor. With all situations being different, this basement has 2 sump pumps and had previously flooded during a power failure; the electrician was not made aware of this and has installed the heaters along the floor trim (as usual). We are wondering about this, and the possible consequences of another flood and having these 240 Volt heaters in water
P.S. There is no sub floor?just carpet over concrete.
